" Alaska is by far the most inspiring wilderness I have ever experienced. This Alaskan Retrospect is a diary in art of the moments that touched me the most. I invite all to join me on Saturday Sept 20, 2008 as I unveil these 'moments' in the form of ten new original pieces of art. I will also be presenting over two hundred of the photographs that mapped out my two week adventure in the Alaskan wild. See the scenes that inspired the art! I look forward to sharing my inspiration with everyone!"

Originals

The originals below will only be available on September 20, 2008. New Originals will be posted as the show draws closer, so visit often to see the new additions to the show!

"Arctic Council" - Arctic Wolves
Image size: 34" x 24"

This painting was inspired by the vast tundra of the arctic circle, the only home of these beautiful canines. Their bland bleached coats created a wonderful contrast to the rich autumn colours of the tundra.

"Alaskan Monarch " Bald Eagle
Image Size: 11" x 16"

"From the moment I photographed this Alaskan Bald Eagle I was intrigued by the play of the plumage on his head. It was amazing how intricate and refined the feathers were, and how many were required to create this noble brow."

"Icy Strait Mariners" Orcas
Image Size: 15" x 24"

The glaciers are a marvel that everyone should have the opportunity to see. The "ice thunder" of falling pieces of glacier is haunting. The shear mass of this ice leaves one to think of what the world was like when it was covered with ice?

"Were The Salmon Run" Colour Study
Image Size: 6" x 14"

"this mist drenched river caught my wife and I as we drove down the Alaska coastline. We both watched as the salmon made their way down the river by the hundreds. The salmon run is truly a sight to see."

"Gateway To Alaska"
Image Size: 10" x 20"

"I saw this stunning sunset at the mouth of the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska. Its colour and beauty gave me instant inspiration"

"Denali Autumn " Moose
Image Size: 24" x 40"

"This painting was inspired by a face to face encounter I had with this rather large fellow well inside Denali National Park. I watched this moose make its way across the tundra heading right for me, hidden in the underbrush! Fortunately for me the moose decided to carry on with his day leaving me in a state of relief and the best moose photos I have ever taken."
